Junior Journalist Club

The Junior Journalist Club course is aimed at providing students with practical skills to enter the field of print and broadcast journalism by assigning reporting tasks to be published in a student newspaper.

Students will pitch story ideas and be sent on reporting assignments to cover events involving the Technolyceum that will be put into a biweekly online student newsletter and a monthly print student newspaper with the student’s byline and photography work.

Through our lessons and project work, the student will receive training in creative writing, headline writing, reporting to camera, opinion pieces, feature articles, creative writing, and conduct mock press conferences and media packages. All work will be graded.

We aim to teach students practical skills, acquaint them with the works and techniques of writers and journalists and give them a fun way of learning new skills and to have a tangible presentable piece of work to show for their endeavours.
